Lancia Stratos HF Turbo - Group 5

As if the normal Stratos HF wasn't mad enough, Lancia developed a handful of silhouette road-racing cars, re-designed from the ground up on a tubular-frame chassis, with a dramatic body overhaul. The front and tail section were significantly extended to give the car more stability, while the trademark short wheelbase remained the same. With the giant KKK turbo strapped on, Lancia got the engine up from the 280bhp of the rally-version to a whopping 560bhp.

Turbos weren't allowed in rally by this point though, which is a shame as this mid-70s hyper-car missed Group B by five years. It's clear to see how this project inspired the mid-engined 037 and Delta S4 Group B cars that followed.
